In 2004, Marci Allison began the volleyball program at UT Dallas and has since built one of the most respected programs in all of NCAA Division III.
In her first 13 seasons with the Comets, Allison has led UTD to four American Southwest Conference championships and has made five trips to the NCAA D-III National Tournament. Her Comets have qualified for the ASC Tournament every year since the program’s inception and has claimed 10 regular season league titles.
An eight-time ASC Coach of the Year winner, Allison earned AVCA Region Coach of the Year recognition for the first time in 2016 after leading the Comets to the NCAA D-III Sweet 16. She has coached three AVCA All-Americans during her tenure at UTD and has mentored nine players who have garnered AVCA All-Region honors.
She boasts a 315-107 (.746) career coaching record, ranking second among active ASC volleyball coaches. She recently climbed into the top 20 of active NCAA D-III volleyball coaches in regards to winning percentage after leading the Comets to their best record in program history this past fall, going 32-3.

In addition, Allison has been involved with USA Volleyball in recent years, serving as a team leader at the 2015 Pan Am Cup in Lima, Peru. Her involvement with USA Volleyball began in 2011 when she coordinated team training for the A2 team on the UTD campus. She then served as an assistant coach for the Collegiate National Team in Dallas two years later and was the co-head coach for the Collegiate National Team in Minneapolis in 2014.
Prior to her arrival at UTD, Allison was a record-setting outside hitter as a player at Angelo State University and then served as an assistant coach at ASU for four seasons.
Allison was a summa cum laude graduate at ASU in 1999 with a kinesiology degree, then earned a master's degree and taught on the ASU faculty. In addition to her coaching duties at ASU, Allison works with various volleyball camps and with local club teams. She is USA IMPACT, CAP I & CAP II certified.
